The water taxi ride from Harry’s to the palazzo was a heady mix of unbridled kisses and concentrated restraint. It was the best damn foreplay Matteo had ever had in his life.

Standing on the narrow walk-in front of the door as the water taxi sped away; Matteo drew Lena into his arms and finally gave in to the need to touch her.

As his mouth covered hers, his hands started at her shoulders and traced their way down her body, memorizing every curve and edge. She felt so good he wanted to commit her to memory.

“Let’s go inside,” she said, her breath feathering over his mouth.

He answered her by deepening the kiss, breaking it only to pull out the large key Olympia had given him and unlock the door. Then he scooped Lena up and carried her over the threshold.

“You’re such a gentleman.”

“I’m glad you think so because the things I want to do to you are decidedly ungentlemanly.”

“God, I can’t wait.”

He was already hard, but her words and the way she was kissing his neck made his erection strain hard against his fly.

He set her down only to pull the door shut and lock it behind them. He didn’t bother to search for the lights, he simply took her by the hand ready to guide her upstairs to the room where everything had started, but he was surprised when she seemed to have other plans.

“Remember the elevator?” she asked. “I’d like to show you exactly what I was talking about earlier today—just how unsafe you’d be trapped with me inside.”

Mio dio.

He surrendered and let her lead him to the glass box in the center of the room.

He pushed the call button and, as they waited for the doors to open, he pulled her close and nibbled at her ear. He placed gentle kisses on her forehead, on that delicious spot behind her ears, trailing his way down until he’d reached the delicate indent between her neck and collarbone. He brushed her blond hair to one side to give himself better access to trail kisses down her neck.

She ran the flat of her palm down his torso, cupped the center of him.

“Dio, tesoro, you are making me crazy,” he murmured.

She was making him stupid with lust.

His hands found their way inside her blouse to her breasts; she inhaled sharply. If the elevator didn’t get there soon, they might just have to make love out here. He slipped his hands underneath the edge of her bra and found her sensitive nipples.

As the elevator door opened, she pulled him inside.

The doors barely had time to shut before he’d backed her up against the wall. She locked her hands around his neck, and he ravished her with deep kisses that blocked out everything else but her with him in this moment.

He slid his hands along her thigh, exploring upward until his finger caught the delicate lace edge of her panties. In one swift move, he tugged them down and held her as she stepped out of them.
